2009 Student PICK Nomination!
Posted on March 30th, 2009 3 commentsGot an email today that we’ve been chosen as a Student PICK Nominee for the 2009 Student PICK Awards. Very cool.
Your website, Book a Lesson, has been chosen as a 2009 Student PICK Nominee. The first annual Student PICK Awards featured 1000 top websites for college students that have been narrowed down to 100 Student PICK Nominees, and Book a Lesson is one of them! Our awards team surveyed over 200,000 college students across the U.S. asking them to evaluate the top 1000 websites and choose their favorites. All sites were rated on a scale of 1-10 in 5 categories including: Ease of Use, Range of Tools Available, Real-Life Application, The Site’s Perceived Intentions, and Overall Opinion of the Site. You are receiving this email because your site scored in the top 10% of the class!
…
We look forward to working with you to determine the top 25 college student websites online!
Best Regards,

Google Checkout fees are updated…
Posted on March 11th, 2009 No commentsStarting May 5th 2009, Google will implement a tiered structure to their fees for using Google Checkout.
How does this affect you? If you do more than $100,000 a month in Google Checkout sales, you actually win a little bit as long as they are larger transactions. % drops from 2% to 1.9% but transaction fee is now $0.30 instead of $0.20

Have no fear if you are a new user. We are offering a free 180-day trial for our instructors to have unlimited access to our booking features. -
Book a Lesson in its 3rd year…
Posted on February 12th, 2009 No commentsWe find ourselves in our 3rd year of booking lessons and we face an economy like we’ve never seen in our lifetimes. As we continue down the road providing lesson booking and marketing service, we are revisiting our pricing model.
Money is tighter than ever and we want to stabalize pricing so that we don’t go bankrupt and you don’t go bankrupt.
Stay tuned for some updates coming RE: pricing.

Posted on September 26th, 2007 No commentsComing in the next few weeks will be a way for you as an instructor to upload video’s to share with your students and potential students.
Its been pretty quiet on the blog this summer, we’ve been spending some time streamlining our processes and code for a better experience for students and instructors.
We hit over 300 students and more than 600 lessons booked through our booking engine this summer, we’re pretty excited about those starting numbers.
